Mother's Day ROCKED!
Isn't this just the sweetest? Brigid made it in school and brought it home on Wednesday for me. She's inherited her Daddy's trait of not being able to wait til the special day to be able to give someone something, so she gave it to me 30 seconds inside the door after I had picked her up from school. Made me cry, which was confusing to both the girls. I tried to explain that sometimes when grownups are so happy, they cry. Didn't make any sense to them at all - but they'll get it when they are old enough to have some hormones kick in!
Jonathan called on Saturday afternoon and said that his father had offered to give him a ride up if it was ok so he could spend Mother's Day with me. Was it ok??!! I was so happy to have ALL my kiddos with me for Mother's Day this year! Lizy came up at lunchtime because she wanted to spend time with us too! (She calls me "Mommy" which makes me smile!) We did some beading, and when my Mom and Dad got here, we taught Grannie how to bead too! We took a quick field trip to the Ben Franklins to get beads and a board for her, and she spent the rest of the afternoon chatting and made a necklace with us! I made a few bracelets and a Mother's Day card for my sister.
Chinese food for dinner and then it was time for everyone to head for home. It was a fantastic weekend, but I think I need another weekend to recover from all the excitement!
This week I'll be doing a scrapbooking project with the kids in Brigid's class. I have made little "All About Me" albums for them and will be working with small groups of kids throughout the day on the project. The pages are "My Favorite Color", "My Favorite Food", "My Favorite Animal" and "My Favorite_____" and I'll let them write in and draw their favorite thing.
Can't wait!
Linda it sounds like a perfect day!
